About Crystal Springs Surgical Associates

Crystal Springs Surgical Associates was established in November 2006 after its founder John Feng MD spent four years with Laparoscopic Associates of San Francisco.
Dr. Feng’s specialty interests include Laparoscopic Surgery for Morbid Obesity, and a variety of Advanced Laparoscopic Gastrointestinal Surgery for the treatment of many diseases (acid reflux, hiatal hernia, achalasia, tumors, ulcers, feeding tubes, gastroparesis, bleeding, adhesions, colon, solid organ, gallbladder disorders).
A highly trained expert in Laparoscopic, or Minimally Invasive Surgery, Dr. Feng has developed many areas of expertise in his practice and authored numerous articles on many of these subjects.

Meet Shelli

Shelli joins Crystal Springs Surgical Associates as an experienced surgery office receptionist and administrative assistant. She is originally from Michigan and Louisiana and is now happily making her home here in California. What makes her job so worthwhile is making patients her number one priority – she feels the best reward to her is helping patients feel comfortable and gaining trust in their care!

Center of Excellence: After 4 years as Medical Director of Bariatric Surgery Services at California Pacific Medical Center, Dr. Feng is now the Medical Director of Bariatric Surgery Services at Sequoia Hospital. As Director, Dr. Feng helped CPMC become a Center of Excellence designated by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. This designation means that while complications are possible in any surgery, the rates of complications performed at a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence are extremely low. Dr. Feng is excited about Sequoia Hospital becoming an ASMBS Center of Excellence. His involvement in this process has created a hospital program that has allowed patients to receive excellent care in a supportive, compassionate, experienced and comprehensive environment.
